Replay is a theatre company inspired by the integrity of educational theatre and the power of storytelling.
Transforming spaces into theatres for a day, we want to give all of Northern Ireland’s children and young people their first opportunity to experience live theatre.
At Replay, we believe that theatre finds truth in discussion. By empowering their authentic voice, we aim to grow the possibility and potential of our young audiences.
Established in 1988, Replay is dedicated to providing high quality theatre that entertains, educates and stimulates children and young people throughout Northern Ireland and to supporting and inspiring the adults that work with, and care for them. All projects provide unique curriculum support, encourage increased understanding, development and learning (at school level and in life skills) and promote concepts of cultural identity and diversity.
Replay has traditionally been and is currently, one of the most active theatre companies in Northern Ireland. The company has a history of commissioning scripts from local and international writers and has worked with both emerging and established playwrights such as Marie Jones, Gary Mitchell, Damian Gorman, John McClelland, Rebecca Bartlett and in recent years Patrick J. O’Reilly, Gary Owen, Vicky Ireland, Vincent Higgins and Kareen Pennefather.
Replay Productions is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status.
The company is managed by a team of 2 full-time and 2 part-time members of staff. Day-to day responsibility for the management of the company lies with the Executive Director who is supported by the Artistic Director, Operations Manager and Administrative Officer. In addition Replay currently employs a full-time Creative Engagement Associate through project funding. During the delivery of key programmes the organisation employs teams of professionals on freelance and short term contracts.
