Replay Theatre Company is embarking on a three-year development project leading to a professional show touring to Northern Irish schools that focuses on the experiences of teenage boys and explores this through high energy contemporary dance.
This piece will be directed by choreographer Stevie Prickett who has choreographed for Assault Events and Scottish Dance Theatre and who tutors on the dance degree at University of Ulster.
The first stage of this project will take place this September when Stevie and a facilitator will run workshops with 3 different classes of boys (one class per participating school) to generate ideas which would feed into the development of the final performance.
In Autumn 2012, Stevie and the facilitator will return to each of the classes with a workshop and some small fragments of performance created with professional dancers to continue the development of the show and in Autumn 2013, the final show will return both to these classes and to other schools in Northern Ireland.
