Replay is an educational theatre company. This means that we use theatre to explore a range of themes relevant to young people.
Replay creates project for 11-18 year olds. Each project is aligned to specific elements of the Curriculum at Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4 as well as ‘AS’ & ‘A’ Level.
Generally our projects are tailored to a particular age range. The reason for this is to ensure that the children get the most out of the production and that all the content and language are age appropriate.
Theatre Productions
Each year we tour Northern Ireland’s Post-Primary Schools with one bespoke theatre production. These productions are particularly relevant for students studying drama on for key sections of the Learning for Life & Work Curriculum.
Resources
Depending on the individual project we may provide resources with recommended pre and post show activities for you to carry out in the classroom.
Drama
Replay uses drama to explore topics relevant to young people that are often difficult. We are a professional theatre company and so any visit my Replay introduces students to a production of a live theatre show. School Halls are quite literally transformed into theatres for a day. Occasionally Replay will produce a classic text however the majority of our work consists of commissions for professional playwrights to create new work.
Learning for Life & Work
Replay’s projects are designed to address key areas of the Learning for Life & Work syllabus. In 2009-09 priority areas for the company included Underage Drinking and Alcohol Misuse and Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing. These projects are accompanied by resources to support the teacher in the classroom.
Workshops
We also offer a workshop programme. These workshops use drama and role-playing again to look at a specific topic. Generally these workshops are designed to be delivered to one individual class of children.
