What is an educational theatre company?

Replay is an educational theatre company. This means that we use theatre to explore a range of themes relevant to young people.

Replay creates projects for 4-11 year olds. Each project is aligned to specific elements of the Curriculum at Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2.

Generally our projects are tailored to a particular age range. The reason for this is to ensure that the children get the most out of the production and that all the content and language are age appropriate.

Each year we tour Northern Ireland’s Primary Schools with at least one full scale bespoke theatre production. Previous productions have explored themes such as Healthy Eating, Racism, Friendship, & the Environment.

Depending on the individual project we may provide resources with recommended pre and post show activities for you to carry out in the classroom.

We also offer a workshop programme. These workshops use drama and role-playing again to look at a specific topic. Generally these workshops are designed to be delivered to one individual class of children.

What do we need from you?
Replay’s Touring Company is made up of a team of professional actors and a stage/production manager. We tour with set, costumes and lights.

We require from you:
Use of the school hall for either an entire morning or afternoon session.

We will as far as possible schedule performance times so that they cause no interruption to school break or lunch times.

A minimum of two power points within the performance area.
