Over the last month Replay Theatre has undergone some significant changes. As we say, with heavy hearts, goodbyes to dear friends we also pay tribute to two brilliant women who have helped make the Company an important part of the arts landscape in Northern Ireland over the last few years; our former Artistic Director Anna Newell and Interim Executive Director Karen Gallagher. We wish them both all the very best for the future and continued success in their work!
However in theatre, as with everything in life, the show must go on! And Replay is raring to go – ready to build on the incredible work done previously. We’re happy to welcome Replay’s own Janice Kernoghan as our new Artistic Director and Brian Mullan as our new Chief Executive Officer. Joining the team on an interim basis in Janice’s previous role as Special Educational Needs Coordinator is long time collaborator, Andrew Stanford, with Hayley McBride and Andrew Moore continuing on as Finance & Operations Manager and Communications Officer respectively. And the team have an exciting summer ahead to usher in this new era!
Already we’ve been travelling across all of Ireland engaging and enthralling children and parents alike with our 2016 tour of WiggleGiggle, with shows still to come over the next month in Roscommon Arts Centre on 14 June, Hawks Well Theatre in Sligo on 17 June, Riverbank Arts Centre in Newbridge on 18 June and Solstice Arts Centre in Navan on 19 June. Tickets for all these shows can be found on the venues’ websites.
Even more tantalising, over June we will be developing a brand new show for children with disabilities titled Yes Sir, I Can Boogie – giving all kids the chance to dance! Watch this space for more details.
And finally we are delighted to announce we are taking our show Bliss to On The Edge 2016 – World Festival of Theatre for Children and Young People – in Birmingham in July to a sold out show at Mayfield School. We can’t wait!
All this and much more to come as this eventful year continues, won’t you come join us?
